Description

The magatama is one of Japan’s oldest sacred forms — a curved jewel worn for thousands of years as an amulet of protection and spiritual harmony. Atsuko’s version translates that ancient form into borosilicate glass: each green and yellow iridescent charm is shaped by hand in the flame, then gathered with amethyst, ruby, red and goldstone beads into a necklace full of color and movement.

Photographed in the Pyrenean mountains, it carries the energy of something both very old and very alive.

Materials: Borosilicate glass · Silver · Amethyst · Ruby · Quartz
Length: 46 cm (adjustable)

Each magatama is handcrafted individually — no two are the same in their arrangement of colors or the exact form of the glass charms.

Made by Atsuko Naito in the Spanish Pyrenees, drawing on her Japanese roots and twenty years of glass craft.
